Wisdom Teeth Removal

Your wisdom teeth are your third molars and are the very last teeth to emerge right at the back of your mouth, typically making an appearance in the late teens or early 20s. By this stage, the adult teeth are already firmly established and there is often insufficient room for another set of molars. As a result, wisdom teeth frequently need to be removed.

Why Might I Need My Wisdom Teeth Removed?

Wisdom teeth that have insufficient room to erupt properly are referred to as being impacted. They may try to erupt underneath the adjacent teeth or second molars, or even sideways through the gums. Sometimes a wisdom tooth will only partially erupt, making it harder to keep clean and more prone to infection and decay.
